Motivation

The original paper establishes spectral signatures as a passive detection mechanism for valid reasoning. If these signatures are causal (or strongly correlated proxies), forcing the attention mechanism's graph Laplacian to adhere to 'valid' spectral profiles during generation could suppress hallucinations and logical fallacies without retraining.

Proposed Method

Develop a 'Spectral Guidance' decoding strategy. During the forward pass of a Transformer, compute the eigenvalues of the attention matrices. Define a loss function that penalizes deviation from the 'valid reasoning' spectral cluster identified in the paper. Use gradient descent on the current step's key-value pairs (or intermediate activations) to minimize this loss before sampling the next token.

A training-free, inference-time intervention method that significantly improves the mathematical accuracy and logical consistency of existing LLMs.
